How TikTok, Threads and more social media sites are promoting Taylor Swift's new album 'The Tortured Poets Department'

Taylor Swift just released her new album, well her new double album that is.

After announcing “The Tortured Poets Department” would be coming out on April 19, 2024 during her GRAMMY acceptance speech for Best Pop Vocal Album for “Midnights,” the singer surprised fans at 2 a.m. EST when she dropped 15 more songs and “The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology.”

But that’s not the only surprise Swift had in store for fans. On TikTok, users have the opportunity to earn a limited time badge for her 11th studio album. To do so they need to search “Taylor Swift” and then complete the following steps: follow Taylor Swift and Taylor Nation, her official fan account, on the app, save her upcoming single with Post Malone “Fortnight” and post a video using #TheTorturedPoetsDepartment.

Swift also joined Threads just in time to promote her new album. The social media app had created a new effect for fans who used various tags relating to the album leading up to its release. Not only did the tag appear in a gold glitter effect, but after liking a post with one of the tags, white hearts fill the page. But on Friday, fans could earn a special badge on their profile after sharing one of Swift’s posts with friends through an Instagram message.

Finally over on X, formerly Twitter, Swift has a few official hashtags that place the official TTPD logo after the phrase.
