Taylor Swift Attends the 2024 Golden Globes
The Eras Tour is the gift that keeps on giving.
Many monumental moments have taken place in the Swifite community in the one year since Taylor Swift embarked on her Eras Tour.
The sold out tour also provided the perfect platform for Swift to announce not one, but two of her re-record albums, “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)” and “1989 (Taylor’s Version).” In a similar fashion she also premiered a few music videos during the tour, “Karma featuring Ice Spice” and “I Can See You” which Joey King and Presley Cash who were both in the “Mean” music video in 2010 as well as Swift’s “Valentine’s Day” costar, a former boyfriend, Taylor Lautner.
In August, Los Angeles Swifties were in for an exciting surprise when they found out the first three nights of Swift’s six night stay at SoFi Stadium was being filmed. Swift later announced that “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” film would be coming to theaters starting October 13, 2023.
Swift returned to Los Angeles for the premiere of her film on Oct. 11, 2024. Not only did she shut down the Grove Outdoor Mall for the red carpet event, but she also invited her fans to be the first to see the film. The film broke multiple records including becoming the highest-grossing concert movie of all time.
This brings us to tonight where Swift’s film was nominated for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement at the Golden Globes.
Fans were eager to see Swift arrive, with many manifesting that they would get a photo of the “Cruel Summer” singer with “Barbie’s” Margot Robbie.
Additionally, fans noted that Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce was also in Los Angeles as the Kansas City Chief’s played the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium.
Despite not doing any preshow interviews or speeches, Swift still managed to gain some notable attention online anytime the camera panned to her.
After host and comedian Jo Koy made a joke about Swift in his opening monologue, the camera panned to the “Cruel Summer” singer while she promptly took a sip from her glass.
Viewers at home were fans of the joke either, but were fans of Swift’s reaction.
Another fan favorite moment for those watching from home was when Swift took a selfie with former SNL star Bill Hader. The two did a Twilight parody sketch together when she hosted the show in 2009.
Cameras also caught what appeared to be a tea spilling session between Selena Gomez, Swift and Keleigh Teller. Internet sleuths and lip readers seem to think that Gomez was confiding in Swift and Teller that she had asked her old co-star Timothée Chalamet for a picture, and he and Kylie Jenner said no.
Back to the awards! While Barbie ultimately ended up winning the award that the Eras Tour concert film was up for, that didn’t stop Swift from being a class act and leading the standing ovation for the Barbie cast and crew.
