As an Audience Engagement Journalist, Carolyn recognizes the unique role social media plays in the journalism field. Because of this, she focuses on understanding the best ways to communicate information with an audience using various social media platforms including Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and TikTok.

TIKTOK
Carolyn launched the SoCal Local TikTok for Southern California News Group to a space on social media for the 11 publications entertainment news. Since then she has branched out the page to be on Instagram and YouTube and share article recaps of local news and national stories as well as original short form videos.
Upon becoming an audience engagement producer at Southern California News Group, Carolyn redesigned the Orange County Register’s Instagram presence. She also launched the Inland Empire Report, an account that shares the recent work from SCNG’s four Inland Newspapers as well as relaunching the Daily Breeze on Instagram.
